A black hole is one of my favorite things in space. As a black hole will suck up anything on its path, nothing can escape it. Not even light. Us humans don’t know what’ in in a black hole, we cannot see it with our bare eyes. But we do know one thing about black holes: there is darkness.
"A black hole is a place in space where gravity pulls so much, that even light cannot get out. The gravity is so strong because matter has been squeezed into a tiny space. This can happen when a star is dying." (I got that from Nasa.gov)
Maybe you didn’t know, but black holes can eat INFORMATION! This could be a real problem because if we would lose all information, then we would have to restart everything we know.
There is another question I have: where does a black hole keep all the information? I found the answer. I dont know if I fully understand it. "Black holes are like holograms, where all the information is amassed in a two-dimensional surface able to reproduce a three-dimensional image." Apparently black holes are the largest hard disks existing in nature! So the black hole prints the verb (person, place or thing) into a two-dimensional shape, and keeps it. Think about that for a moment.
I also thought that you, reader, want to know HOW a black hole sucks everything up thats in its path. Well, the black hole uses gravity, but soooooo much of it (kind of like an over-powered vacuum) that, like I said in the 2nd paragraph, not even light can get out. I added the picture made of the black hole seen last year in April.
I looked up a few websites and videos to share some info and make understanding it easier (see below).
In Khan academy (my math’s learning program) you can earn a black hole badge, which is very cool. I need to get a black hole badge!!
